Putts are usually missed from short range due to your eye position.
It's particularly important to have your dominant eye over the ball at address. This enables your hands to work more freely in squaring the club head at impact.
Over 90% of players have their eyes inside the line. This results in making a slight compensation in the rotation and arc of the swing the result is that the hands do not sync correctly. And, in many cases we tend to decelerate as a consequence.
