Hello everyone. I am probably the worst and most inexperienced player of this site. I have started a new job a few months ago and all my new colleagues play golf. I don't. They have weekends away, and an annual competition and constantly talk about the game. Also they have meetings on the course. Unfortunately I have never played golf, but now have to learn as I keep missing parts of meetings because I spend quite a lot of time looking for my ball, while my colleagues are putting on the green
Are there any shortcuts at all to learing to play. I don't have much money to spend on lessons, but I really need to improve quickly

Hi Peter. Don't worry, I'm sure we've all been there. I'm not that far ahead of you. I don't know of any shortcuts, but I was told to have lessons before I picked up bad habbits. I know some clubs offer courses which work out much cheaper than individual lessons. I reckon that's your best bet.

Definately with you there Mark, we have ALL been there. No one was born with a golf club in their hands.
Keep up the practice Peter, but do find the cash to have some lessons. It's no good going to the driving range practicing bad technique.
